Single Study Language Provider (SSLP)


 

In 2018 the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) has granted Community Languages Australia re-registration as a Senior Secondary Provider to deliver VCE Languages units 1- 4 on behalf of Victorian CLS.


 

Single Study Language Provider Registrations


All SSLP are required to maintain its registration and obligation with the following authorities:
  • Accreditation with the Department of Education
  • Registration with CLV
  • Non-school senior secondary or foundation secondary provider with VRQA
  • Registration with VCAA

Registration with CLV


    SSLP must complete an annual registration with CLV confirming:
  • SSLP contact details (Legal/Registered name, postal address, contact person, phone, mobile and email)
  • VCE Coordinator details
  • Site location details (physical address, date and time)
  • Number of classes
  • Number of students (Units 1&2, 3&4) (SSLPs are required to attach a copy of VASS enrolment )
  • VIT teachers (CLV will verify teachers’ details using its VIT Employment Portal).
  • SSLP that wish to deliver VCE language must also meet the Minimum Standards for Registration to Provide an Accredited Senior Secondary:
  • Standard 1 – Principles
  • Standard 2 – Student learning outcomes
  • Standard 3 – Student welfare
  • Standard 4 – Student records and results
  • Standard 5 – Teaching and learning
  • Standard 6 – Governance and probity

Non-school senior secondary or foundation secondary provider with VRQA


  • SSLP that wish to deliver VCE language must also meet the Minimum Standards for Registration to Provide an Accredited Senior Secondary:
  • Standard 1 – Principles

  • Standard 3 – Student welfare
  • Standard 4 – Student records and results
  • Standard 5 – Teaching and learning
  • Standard 6 – Governance and probity

VCE Authorisation


Single Study Language Providers (SSLPs) intending to deliver VCE language studies in 2024 are required to submit an Application for authorisation as a Single Study Language Provider by August 13th.

They must complete this process (Stage 1 & 2) annually, regardless of whether they are new or previously authorised.
This includes SSLPs within the registration of Community Languages of Australia and senior secondary course providers authorised by the VCAA, the accredited owner of the Victorian Certificate of Education program (Education and Training Reform Regulations 2017).
Single Study Language Providers applying for authorisation to deliver the VCE must demonstrate capacity to comply with the conditions set by the VCAA.
