Professional Development Sessions

The professional development sessions are considered one of CLV most important activity available for CLS teachers. They are always in great demand attracting strong numbers of participants which indicates they are beneficial and more is required.

The topics offered are very practical and useful and have been selected in response to teachers's needs and demands and have been delivered by experienced practitioners in languages education teaching and training.

LOTE Methodology Courses

Another important and popular activity CLV provides to its member is the Credit Bearning courses.

A serious of courses are offered each semester in 3 languages (Chinese - English - Vietnamese) and conducted by professional trainers from well known universities here in Victoria and nationally (RMIT, VU, Deakin Uni and Monash Uni).
These courses create pathways. Having successfully completed the courses participants have the opportunity to proceed with further studies at TAFE and University levels. These courses are always in great demand attracting strong numbers of participants which indicates they are beneficial and more is required.

First Aid Courses

CLV in cooperation with CPR First Aid Training conducts series of First aid courses every semester for CLS teachers. These courses are subsides by CLV and are in great demand.

  • HLTAID003 Apply First Aid (formerly known as Level 2 or Senior First Aid)

Community Languages Schools Conference

The community languages schools conference is always an inspiring event for community schools. It gives language teachers the opportunity to network, benefit from the keynote speakers and the workshops offered.

Each year over 350 language teachers get together and enjoy the experience.

Unfortunately due to covid-19 no conference was held in 2020 but we are hoping that we are going to hold it in July 2021.
